Horse Riding/Pony trekking
Gallop along a deserted beach....
For group horse riding lessons and one-to-one tuition there is an equestrian centre based at Coll, near Stornoway. The arena is available for private hire from Monday to Saturday. They also provide pony trekking along the beach at Coll.

Game Fishing
The islands offer visitors almost unlimited opportunities for brown Trout fishing, Salmon and sea Trout lochs are privately owned but permission can be given on some estates in exchange for a fee. Advanced application advised.
Sea Angling
To the visiting sea angler, the Outer hebrides offer a variety of sport unsurpassed almost anywhere else in the country. Enquire prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.
Hillwalking
Explore the hills of Uig & Harris. Getting to the summit of one off these hills is always rewarded with spectacular views.
Golf
Excellent 18 hole golf course in Stornoway and one of the most remote courses in Britian, situated in Harris.

Bird watching
Excellent opportunities for spotting species rare to other parts of the country, including Golden Eagles & corncrakes. Herons nest by the loch and stream below the lodges. The loch attracts other visitors such as malards, geese, swans, curlews and many other speices
Other moorland and ground nesting birds such as red grouse can be seen in their unspoilt natural habitiat. Birds of Prey are also attracted to this secluded spot including falcons, buzzards and Golden Eagles, often spotted swooping down over the lodges
Flora
The Outer Hebrides is a marvellous place to see wild flowers. The visitor can relish the colours and the scents at their best among the west coast machairs, with the calling of birds adding another dimension to the experience.
Wildlife
The Outer Hebrides are remarkably rich in all forms of wildlife, particularly in late spring and early summer when the machair is at it's peak. Among the species to see are the otter, red deer and common grey seals. Red deer roam free on the moorland surrounding the lodges.
