Guest Feedback and Testimonials

Feedback is of utmost importance to us, and we love to hear back from our guests to ensure that we have not only fulfilled, but exceeded their expectations. But don’t just take our word for it, read what previous clients have said about Whitefalls Spa lodges below:

“Luxurious accommodation, beautiful views, designed for the Scottish weather!”

I have been recommending this place to everyone, it was far better than a hotel, with total privacy and far better than sharing the spa facilities with strangers and having to go back to your hotel room. I really really want to come back!

“Beautiful accommodation, a chance to truly relax”

Whitefalls is a beautifully finished, spacious lodge with everything you could possibly want and more. The location is fantastic with stunning views over the lochs – every window has a different view over the Hebridean landscape. It snowed almost every day we were there and so we really appreciated the private spa facilities to warm up after walking on the deserted beaches. We really had an opportunity to fully relax and would definitely recommend this to others. We drove over 700 miles to get there, but would definitely love to go back!

“We made the right choice!”

We absolutely adored Whitefalls Spa Lodges. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was the best place we could have picked. We felt so relaxed during our stay. The owners are very helpful and keep in touch throughout the week to make sure you have what you need. We were greeted with amazing home baking that just put a smile on our faces! We wanted somewhere secluded and off the beaten track and this was certainly the place for that. We loved driving around exploring the area and walking about the fields that surround the lodges. There are beautiful views and you might just happen to see an eagle as we did. Because it is so secluded the view of the stars made our week even more special. The spa bathroom was one of our favourite things, with a heated floor and amazing rain shower, not to mention the most amazing sauna and multifunction jacuzzi bath that two people can fit in side by side!  We loved all the little extras. An amazing place to stay!

“Utterly, amazingly secluded & the ultimate in getting away from it all in 5* luxury!”

Having experienced many 5* establishments across the world, I can truly say Whitefalls Spa is up there with the best.
Any holiday in the Western Isles should be to ‘get away from it all’ and this is absolutely the ultimate in getting away!
My husband and I both run our own successful businesses and visited Whitefalls in April. We couldn’t have asked for more. A warm welcome on arrival from owners & hosts Donald and Anna who showed us around the stunning lodge and explained all the amenities. Any questions throughout our stay was promptly answered & we were hugely impressed by their dedication to make our experience of Whitefalls and the Western Isles a fantastic experience. On arrival we were greeted with homebakes, fresh flowers and fizz on ice. The spa lodge is superb – the decor, the ambiance, the seclusion, the views. Mod cons including remote control blinds, state of the art large self cleaning windows, a stunning spa bathroom with underfloor heating. Beautiful, peaceful views from every window and your own therapist to provide fabulous treatments in the privacy of your own lodge. I’m a tad OCD and inspect everywhere we stay on arrival – Whitefalls is the first self serve accommodation I have not felt the need to clean and wash all the cutlery & crockery! Immaculate!

We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year and can’t wait for another get away from it all week! Couldn’t recommend it more.

“Perfect for a luxurious highland honeymoon”

Whitefalls spa lodge offers 5 star luxury in the most idyllic location.

My husband booked this as a surprise destination for our honeymoon -I think he was very nervous that stormy Stornoway would not be my dream destination… Arriving at Whitefalls spa lodge was better than I anywhere I could have imagined -and certainly lives up to previous reviews. Spotless, beautifully presented and far more spacious than any honeymoon suite a hotel could offer, with panoramic views of the hills from the well designed floor to ceiling windows. There has been real attention to detail in the decor, quality of the linen and finishing touches such as flowers and homemade cakes on arrival. It really is an incredibly special place to stay.

We were blessed with excellent weather and so spent most days out exploring Lewis and Harris – but almost wished for a rainy day for an excuse to cosy up and enjoy the facilities of this romantic retreat! Still, a candlelit spa bath and sauna after a long walk takes some beating… We really didn’t want to leave.

Tip for future visitors -go and buy hand dived scallops from Dave & Julie on the jetty at Miavaig (next to the Seatrek office) -4pm daily -the freshest you will ever eat!

“Relaxation, love and luxury”

It doesn’t get better than this! We went to the Isle of Lewis in early June and the sun shone every single day. It was hot enough to even take a dip in the sea. The Whitefall owners Donald and Anna (who are lovely) told us how to find a secret beach where we had a beautiful homemade picnic (packed by them too!) – it was utterly delightful. The rooms are beautiful and so well finished. You almost don’t want to leave the lodge – especially the bathroom. Simply stunning!

We ate at lovely restaurants (the local food scene is of a surprisingly high quality) and did a lot of walking. It’s perfect if you like to get out in the great outdoors. Plus the island is a wash with history – it’s amazing that such a little island has had such a vibrant history. The wildlife is exciting too – you’re still in the UK and yet you could spot a Golden Eagle or a wild dolphin.

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it and would very much like to return to Whitefalls. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

“Mr & Mrs Brown “Perfect Honeymoon”

Wow! I can honestly say I have spent total QUALITY time on a BEAUTIFUL island in a 5 star LUXURIOUS accommodation for a COSY 7 days with my Newly Wedded Husband. Its a large unique lodge with the latest modern equipment and technology. The bed is to die for! The personal touches and attention to small details are lovely. Breathtaking views all around us day and night are stunning. The Spa room….well!…Hot sauna with music and rain forest shower stimulating your lethargic body or the spa tub with wonderful spa features overlooking at the morning sun across the hills plus relaxing spa mood lights for the evening is very sensual. We have driven around the coastline to visit the wonderful attractions and been on a boat trip to see the outstanding beaches, which we thoroughly enjoyed, however, we mostly stayed in and enjoyed my husbands cooking and wine in luxury. Donald the owner, also arranged for us to have a hopi ear treatment and Hot Stone Massage in the comfort of the lodge treatment room, it was nice not having to leave the lodge. We have never been so relaxed ever. Thank you Donald for providing us with our perfect Honeymoon lodge and we hope to return on our ?? anniversary.

“Fantastic”

Perfect location for a romantic weekend away and only disapointment was having to come home!

The attention to detail and standard of the fixtures, fittings and furnishings is far superior to many of the hotels in which I have stayed and as a result we didn’t leave the lodge once during the whole weekend.

Can’t wait to go back.

“Total Luxury and relaxation.”

We stayed in one of the lodges for a week, and arrived very stressed and left completely chilled out. Fabulous lodges with everything of a very high standard. The bathroom is out of this world, you wont want to get out of the bath, great place for watching the sun-rise. We will be returning.

“Absolutely Stunning”

These lodges are fantastic. The location gives you 360 degree views across a wild and beautiful landscape. The decor is modern and luxurious, every convenience has been thought of and the setting is magnificent.

The bathroom is amazing. An oversize jacuzzi bath, built up on a platform and positioned so you can enjoy the view while relaxing in the bath. Wonderful.

The Isle of Lewis has a lot to offer those who love walking, exploring and relaxing. The lodge is within walking distance of the Callanish stones and a short drive from other ancient spots such as the Broch and the Blackhouse cottages.

Admittedly this is a location for couples. I doubt those with kids or groups would find it suitable. Having said this, if you want a romantic few days away, you’ll leave refreshed, happy and set on returning again soon…

“A truly wonderful place”

We’ve recently returned from an amazing week at Whitefalls. The lodges are truly fantastic, every luxury has been thought of . The ceiling to floor windows give the most fantastic panoramic views of the mountains and lochs and watching the sunsets was a wonderful experience. The lodge was so amazing it was hard to leave but the Island is truly stunning too and we visited many places with the Butt of Lewis, Uig and Luskyntyre beach being some of our favourites. The lodge is very near the Callanish Stone Circle which we found ourselves drawn to on many evenings, as the sun was going down, before going back to the lodge to the warmth of the truly fabulous spa. A wonderful location and one we would definitely recommend.

“Chill, Chill, Chill”

What a fabulous time we had visiting Lewis and Harris for the first time, Staying at Whitefalls played a big part in our experience.
Even although the weather was great and we enjoyed our days out we always looked forward to returning to the lodge.
Not a lot I can add to previous reviews but I would say as good as the photographs of the lodge are they do not do it justice.
Thanks Anna and Donald.

“Bliss”

Just returned from 7 night stay at lodges… Absolutely fantastic – everything about them stunning… From the facilities to the scenery…. Lodges have been built with quality and luxury in mind and they did not disappoint 🙂
Would suggest stocking up on supplies in Stornoway before arriving as location is very remote
Definitely an untouched paradise!!!

“Luxurious accommodation with outstanding views of the Isle of Lewis”

The spa lodge is truly amazing with wonderful panoramic views in a secluded location, it had everything we needed and more. You have all the little extras which you would not normally expect but they make all the difference. The owners had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The spa bathroom is fantastic and just listening to ‘Brave Heart’ on the saunas CD whilst relaxing in the river bath and looking at the changing scenery.was a very moving experience.
We received a very warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We explored the beautiful beaches of Lewis & Harris and we would recommend the circular drive around South Harris and visits to many of the historical & cultural sites such as the Blackhouse museum and the standing stones at Callanish.
We should have been in Thailand but it was cancelled, this holiday more than made up for it.
A great experience we loved it. Thanks

“Believe the reviews -simply outstanding”

If you’re looking for tranquility in a 5-star setting go to Whitefalls. For once you can believe the blurb and the reviews.Very well thought -out lodges with great attention to detail and everything of high quality. The comments in the in-house diary cover almost every week since opening and all are very positive -at the very least.
If you’re tempted to go out, Calanish Stones are just around the corner;South Harris to the south ;the Butt of Lewis to the north and Stornaway to the east, are easy drives.

“Everything you could want !”

Everything was provided that you could want as a home from home plus more. So wifi, large tv screen, dvd, dishwasher, washing machine. Good supply of towels, small things like good supply of tea towels, kitchen rolls, napkins, bin liners, washing up liquid e.t.c.

All immaculately clean. Everything worked. Sauna and spa were much appreciated. Rowing fitness machine and cycling machine were also in use. Donald was helpful with any questions that arose.

A haven of tranquility and luxury. Perfect for all ages. Beautifully located with a private outlook onto Lewis moorland. We had excellent weather so this was supplemented by views of the S Lewis/N Harris hills in the background. It’s close to the Callanish standing stones which are very impressive particularly at at clear sunset which we were fortunate to experience. Stornoway is about 20 mins away by car so that’s handy and both Harris and north Lewis are not far to reach.

“I could have stayed there forever!”

There is not a lot I can add to the reviews already on this website!
I stayed in June on our honeymoon. It was great. All of the small details were perfect, I have even take inspiration back home when decorating our house.
You couldn’t ask for a more perfect setting, it was summer so it never really got dark but I am sure winter is great aswell.
I was not sure about it before we got there as it was a lot of money to stay there for a week, but it was definately worth it.

“Wow and wow again!”

We stayed here over Xmas & the lodge was stunning. You really do have everything you need & even when we got snowed in on Xmas eve the owner, Donald, bought us a few extra supplies.

The spa bathroom was my personal favourite part of the lodge. Sitting in the bath at night with all the lights off looking at the stars was breath taking.

Due to bad weather we couldnt explore as much of the island as we would have liked but we actually didn’t mind just chilling inside. It was so nice it was easy to feel comfortable & relaxed.

Not the easiest place to get to but the journey was an adventure in it’s self & well worth it. Stock up on food as you’ll be 30 mins away from any supermarkets.

Enjoy!

“Perfect Honeymoon”

We have just got back from our honeymoon on the Isle of Lewis, staying in one of the Whitefalls Spa Lodges. It was fantastic, the lodge was clean, warm and cosy, with everything you need for a week of relaxing/exploring. It’s about 25 minutes to Stornoway, we didn’t eat out much because we were lazy and wanted to stay in, in our pyjamas with a cup of tea and the west wing on DVD for company! We made good use of our personal sauna, rainfall shower and spa bath, the perfect way to end a day of exploring and the underfloor heating is a great touch in the spa area. Also, possibly an odd thing to comment on, but the fluffy white towels in the spa smelt amazing!

The island is beautiful, if you like rugged coastal landscapes! There are a couple of beautiful beaches nearby, Dalmore And Dalbeg, we saw a seal on Dalmore beach and the waves coming off the Atlantic were huge. I’d highly recommend going to Eoropie beach near the Butt of Lewis as it was my favourite beach of the trip. The one place we ate out was the Digby Chick in Stornoway which was delicious.

Although it’s self catering, Donald is always around if you need anything and he’s wonderful, the first morning we couldn’t get the oven working and he came straight over to help us out, nice to be isolated, but know you’re not alone 🙂

“Met our expectations…and more!”

The nearest comparison I can make to this holiday was a week we spent at the Glenmhor Seasonal Ownership at Gleneagles. Differences were in number of bedrooms (1 instead of 3) and no Sonos music system (but more than adequate Denholm system that took my iPod) and a full Sky package to be able to keep up with the Golf. The bathroom well surpassed the Glenmhor for size and facilities. White Falls is as 5 star as we expected and to give/get an Espa massage on a whim – with no booking and no sharing of sauna and to sit in your tub and watch an eagle soaring above the moor takes a lot of beating….nearly forgot the glass of champagne in my hand at the time! Great holiday for people who want to pamper themselves – rather than be pampered by others. Donald has lots of knowledge and suggestions for things to do/see/eat when you need a break from the tranquillity. Great place for practicing “mindfulness”. Previous Client photos seem a bit bland – there are additional decorations (including fresh flowers on arrival) spotted around the property to soften the feel.

“Perfect Honeymoon Hideaway”

We booked a week at Whitefalls Spa Lodges to celebrate our honeymoon and have a little special time together, and this place was perfect. The location, the lodge and all the facilities were simply wonderful and we had a great honeymoon. The lodge was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade cakes that was waiting on our arrival, along with beautiful fresh flowers and a bottle of champagne. The weather was mixed but that didn’t dampen the holiday at all, the views from the lodge were stunning and it was fascinating watching the different weather systems come in and the gorgeous sunsets.

The days we spent just in the lodge were as wonderful as the days we spent exploring the island. Full access to the movie channels allowed some holiday indulgence, as well as the amazing stereo set and ready for you own iPod. The bathroom obviously was a daily focus and we thoroughly loved our time in the sauna and the spa bath, however, the rain shower is simply awesome. We also had a few treatments by the therapist Janet – well worth having this lady look at your aches and pains, her mission is to ensure you feel amazing afterwards, and you do!

“A refreshing detox from urban life with all the luxuries”

We booked this 5* self catered accommodation so we could have an amazing indoor option if the changeable weather changed for the worse. It was so nice we stayed in when the weather was nice because it was so luxurious to unwind in our own private spa. In the dark winter evenings we used the spa or watched one of the many films on Sky Movies. Or used the cross trainer (ok we didn’t do that but we could of..)

The accommodation is bright and airy and floor to ceiling windows help maximise and frame the beautiful moorland views even with that it feels very private. It’s a tech enthusiasts dream, what with the remote controlled blinds, spa buttons, sauna sound system, tv pc, full sky package, wifi, music system that links with your iphone remotely… you get the picture.

It is very remote. Stornoway is bigger than fort william and 25 mins away and great for a good range of supermarkets and shops. Go south to Uig and Harris and you can drive for 30 mins and not see another car. The further from Stornoway you go the more remote and beautiful the islands are – it does take a while to get to some of the really beautiful places but that’s why they’re remote and wild and worth visiting. Being the only person on a beach that week is something else.

We had a lovely time there and would recommend it as a rural romantic retreat.

“Amazing”

Nobody can call this place average and if they do, they are lying. We stayed for 5 nights recently, it’s a fantastic place, on a hidden gem of an island. It maybe helped that the weather was unbelievably sunny for mid October. The bathroom is like something a premiership footballer would have, no expense spared. The views from the large windows were stunning. An added bonus, we saw the Northern Lights on our first night there. All in all simply perfect.

“Fabulous, so relaxing”

We were lucky enough to stay here in August. There are two beautifully finished lodges in a stunning location. An additional benefit is that they are near two of the best ” must see” sites of the Callanish Standing Stones and the amazing Broch. The lodges are large with a light airy interior and views that captivate from every angle. The owners have thought of everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing from the spa bathroom to the gym and lounge and the so comfortable luxury large bed! We enjoyed exploring form the lodge , walking and by car. On the only day when it rained hard all day we had a terrific relaxing time using the lodge’s facilities to the full. Our stay here was a real tonic.
